Xesar has been upgraded and an entirely new system architecture has been developed with the new Xesar 3.0 update. The new software makes it easy for Xesar users to maintain control at a consistently high security level combined with the maximum flexibility possible.
Control, security and flexibility
"The objective of developing Xesar 3.0 was to combine the three top features of control, security and the frequently required flexibility in an operable manner in a software suite," explains Erich Gärtner, Head of the Xesar Product Management department at EVVA. The result is a fundamental update, which makes the areas of application even more varied than before. Be it in residential properties, in education facilities or an office park, Xesar is now easier to administrate. "The customer can decide for himself whether the administration takes place in a locally installed network or in the cloud," says Gärtner.
More than an update
One of the numerous new features is the multi-station operation: Xesar 3.0 will now offer the option to have the Xesar system administered via a browser-based client server system by several people at the same time. "This means that several users can manage the Xesar system in parallel or open doors online remotely," says Gärtner, "that saves time and costs and is therefore a huge benefit for complex and major access control systems. Another feature that makes Xesar 3.0 particularly flexible was especially welcomed in the final field tests: "In addition to the option of assigning authorisations to not only one person, various identification media can also be issued with different access authorisations for one person. This means, for instance, that an identification medium can remain in the car for entering the garage and a second one opens the doors in the office building." This means that there are hardly any limits now in the application of Xesar while maintaining the same high level of security.
The new Xesar software is presented to its users in a clear structure and with intuitive operation. This also increases the efficiency of the systems administration. "In Xesar 3.0, we offer more individuality on the dashboard: Porters, HR managers, maintenance engineers - they all have their special tasks. The operation interface can be customized accordingly." Furthermore, the operation becomes easier thanks to color status information and short cuts. And, last but not least, the new PubSub interface in Xesar 3.0 improves the options of data exchange with alarm, smart building, personnel data and time recording systems.
Xesar for life: KeyCredit Xesar Lifetime
"With Xesar 3.0 big ideas have been put into reality," emphasizes Erich Gärtner. For example, with KeyCredit Xesar Lifetime, a new payment variant has been developed. "With the KeyCredits at EVVA's electronics, we've developed a currency that did not exist in this form on the market beforehand. A complex access control system with frequent changes to authorisation causes high costs, for this reason we've developed a flat rate. The Xesar flat rate is unlimited in terms of time and volume. The new KeyCredits, which can only be purchased for Xesar 3.0, are therefore a useful addition to the KeyCredits of the existing payment model," says Gärtner.
"Overall, Xesar 3.0 is the logical improvement of the existing electronic platform - high scalability combined with many new features that introduces an entirely new range of potential applications," says Gärner with pride. Xesar 3.0 has been available to all EVVA electronic partners since September.
Anyone interested can test Xesar 3.0 and all new features at the Security Essen at the EVVA fair stand in hall 3, stand 3F69, from 25.09 to 28.09.2018.
From 25 to 28 September, EVVA is presenting the home of security at Security Essen. At Stand 3F69, the latest products and updates can be tried out on the spot. The trade fair also marks next year's 100th anniversary of the long-established company.
This will be the 23rd time that security experts from important branches of industry meet at this trade fair for four days and experience security innovations live. Security Essen is an excellent platform for presenting the latest trends in security technology.
EVVA has been a byword for mechanical and electronic locking systems of the highest engineering standard for almost 100 years. What began in 1919 with the establishment of EVVA "Erfindungs-Versuchs-Verwertungs-Anstalt" still shapes the corporate philosophy: The company not only carries out research itself, but also develops and manufactures its own innovative access systems. EVVA is still a family-run business today and one of the most internationally successful companies in the industry. In 2019, it will be celebrating its 100th anniversary in style. Security Essen will mark the kick off of next year's 100th anniversary.
New in the world of mechanics and electronics
Trend scouts and curious visitors will be rewarded at EVVA’s stand 3F69 in Hall 3: Xesar has not only been upgraded, but further developed, with an entirely new system architecture included in the new Xesar 3.0 update. The new software makes it much easier for Xesar users to maintain control at a consistently high security level and with the greatest possible flexibility. The next generation of AirKey can be tested – with many smart, new features such as Send a key and Geotagging. EVVA experts will explain how to best utilise and combine electronic components. They will also be happy to answer questions on mechanical systems and to present the products and services in an interactive atmosphere.

EVVA's electronic system range has been enhanced by the electronic cam lock. It can be integrated into any AirKey and Xesar master key system.
"Consequently EVVA's electronics product range is becoming even more versatile", Sabine Ribits, product manager at EVVA, explains. Be it for sensitive areas, such as pharmaceuticals cabinets, display cases with valuable contents at jewellers' or even lockers in sports facilities, letterboxes in residential developments or distributor cabinets – electronic cam lock are the ideal addition to a Xesar or AirKey master key system. They are easy to install and even easier to manage in the software as they are integrated just like all other electronic components. Here at the EVVA head office in Vienna we provide the best example: we offer pick-up lockers at the shipping department that are equipped with electronic cam lock. "As a result, EVVA Partners in Vienna can pick-up their goods 24/7 whenever it suits them and must no longer observe opening times", Ribits adds.
All-in-one with EVVA cam lock
The new electronic cam lock can be flexibly adapted depending on the installation situation thanks to the shorter cylinder length. The locked cam lock (FVS) is also a new feature. Here the thumb turn is blocked when the cam lock is disengaged. Any locking operation as part of this function is also recorded in compliance with data protection regulations.
"We aim to provide our partners with an important enhancement that cuts out convoluted ordering processes. For this reason, locking travel and cam lock variants are compatible with EVVA mechanical locking systems." All cam locks from our mechanical locking system range are available to order and for delivery. They are available in three variants with MB19, MB22 and MB27 thread diameters.
For detailed information about the cam lock check the EVVA website www.evva.com. You are welcome to test the new cam lock at security essen between 25th and 28th September at the EVVA fair stand, hall 3, stand 3F69.
