New version of the electronic door handle and door fitting for outdoor use

The product line of the electronic door handle/door fittings manufactured by Uhlmann & Zacher has won several awards and has been constantly extended, the last product being the electronic door fitting with short plate. Another version is now ready for launch. The new outdoor version meets the requirements of protection class IP66 and thus can withstand harsh weather conditions. The dust and water resistance ensures reliable outdoor operation. The product is thus ideally suited for installation in external doors and building exit doors which are exposed to harsh weather conditions. The new version offers all the proven features of the electronic door handle/fitting such as the user-friendly operation and the sleek design.

The new electronic door fitting with short plate from Uhlmann & Zacher

Uhlmann & Zacher extends its fittings range to include a electronic door fitting with short plate. The new CX6174 is especially suitable for use in fire and smoke resistant doors, because the hole layout exactly matches the standard holes for short plate fittings. The new door fitting with short plate can be installed together with the appropriately certified lock even in emergency exit locks according to DIN EN 179.

The CX6174 comes in an elegant and sleek stainless steel design, which allows it to discretely adapt to the architecture of existing and new buildings. The combination with functional and appealing handle shapes allows an additional level of customisation. The unique compact design, in which the entire electronic system, mechanical system, power supply and LED signalling is housed within the door handle, makes the new fitting captivating especially due to its compact size (14.7 mm thickness). The door fitting can either be controlled offline or online via a radio network. The combination of visual and audible signalling enables intuitive operation by the user. The door fitting with short plate can be flexibly programmed and is suitable for all types of standard transponders.

The new wall-mounted reader for outdoor use manufactured by Uhlmann & Zacher

Electronic readers are sometimes exposed to harsh weather conditions outdoors. Uhlmann & Zacher has developed a weatherproof wall-mounted reader CX6134 specially for outdoor use. It is dust and waterproof as per IP67 protection class and thus protected against water ingression up to temporary immersion. Owing to the high protection class, the wall-mounted reader is able to operate reliably outdoors. It is therefore specially suitable for controlling external systems like cabinets, electric door and gate systems and turnstile systems. The CX6134 can be connected to the system both offline and online. Due to the online connection, the new outdoor wall-mounted reader can also be used as an online programming terminal CX6554. This makes it possible to program authorisations, which for example only apply for a day, on the transponder via the wall-mounted reader. For use in unsecured outdoor areas, the wall-mounted reader can be used as a safety version along with a safety relay module for indoor areas. In addition, the product can be used for controlling systems such as lifts, mailboxes and lockers along with a remote module. Intuitive operation is possible through visual and audible signals. MIFARE® and EM/HITAG are available as identification technologies. The new outdoor wall-mounted reader CX6134 is supplied along with an anthracite-coloured surface-mounted housing and can be combined with any U&Z product.

New generation of the Compact Knob Cylinder

Uhlmann & Zacher presents the new generation of the Compact Electronic Knob Cylinder CX6162. The product offers very flexible application options in the area of electronic access control.

The CX6162 from Uhlmann & Zacher is a completely revised version. In spite the small handle diameter, the product offers maximum security because all the security-related components like the coupling, gears and motor are housed in the protected area within the cylinder. The gear is extremely energy-efficient, allowing more actuations with the tried and tested battery. A wide range of cylinder lengths and various new product variants like the half cylinder version or the anti-panic version provide a lot of flexibility during use. The diameter of the knob is very small making it suitable for doors with low backset. With the proven handle recesses and elegant stainless steel design, the compact knob cylinder blends perfectly into the existing product range of Uhlmann & Zacher. The new CX6162 is available for the transponder technology MIFARE® and LEGIC® and supports 868 MHz wireless technology. A version with the Bluetooth® low energy technology is already in preparation. The product can be assembled quickly and easily and is available in all existing U&Z systems (Clex prime, Clex private, Clex public).

The modern method of integrating locking units into electronic locking systems are based on Bluetooth® Low Energy.

Integrators can integrate electronic locking units that communicate via Bluetooth® Low Energy (Bluetooth® LE) into their locking system. Products that are available with Bluetooth® LE are, for example, the electronic door handles and door fittings or electronic knob cylinder and half cylinder. The interface provides the basis for quick and easy integration of the electronic locking units into the external system.

In addition, software manufacturers have the option to develop their own firmware and to use it for managing the locking units via Bluetooth® Low Energy. In the process, management is also possible using an App developed by the integrator. The products meet all the necessary conditions.

With this new method of integration, Bluetooth® products around the world can be used consistently and integrated into existing as well as new systems. Using this connection, many different applications can be combined into one uniform, homogeneous system. This provides maximum flexibility during implementation - from a global perspective.

RFID transponders can continue to be used for Bluetooth® products. The products with Bluetooth® Low Energy are available for online integration with MIFARE® transponder technology. Other products are already being planned.

OSS Standard Offline provides maximum flexibility even in offline and online systems thanks to the integration of offline wall-mounted readers.

Wall-mounted readers are available for all the U&Z systems (Clex prime, Clex private and Clex public). They are also completely compatible with the OSS Standard Offline in the Clex public system. Thanks to OSS, offline locking units of different brands can read the same authorisations from the respective transponder and interpret them in the same manner. OSS Satndard Offline is available for wall-mounted readers for indoor as well as outdoor applications.

The offline wall-mounted readers OSS are available for the widely used MIFARE® DESFire® transponder technology and thus unique till now. The products are preconfigured for 868 MHz radio networking by default. Versions that communicate using Bluetooth® Low Energy technology are already being developed. The combination of visual and audible signals makes it easy to operate. 

The wall-mounted reader can be coupled with the security relay module in the secured area as an special security aspect in unsecured outdoor areas. Thanks to the compact design, the wall-mounted reader is suitable for indoor use in almost any commonly available switching program.

Lifts, for example, can be controlled using the wall-mounted reader with OSS Standard Offline. Further control is possible in the lift itself to regulate the access to different floors.

Integrators can integrate the wall-mounted reader using the Clex public system into their system and network it via radio as well using Clex public online.

The access point LAN from Uhlmann & Zacher connects the locking units and the management software using different interfaces such as LAN or Bluetooth® Low Energy.

The access point LAN establishes a connection between the electronic locking units and the management software of the access control system. The locking units, for example knob cylinders, door handles and door fittings, can communicate with the management software in this way via the access point LAN. 

The product can be used to issue and withdraw authorisations, to send events as well as to open the locking units. This happens in the Clex prime system just by pressing a button from the Keyvi software. LAN, LAN PoE and Bluetooth® Low Energy are available as interfaces in this system.

The product is supplied with power in the version with PoE (Power over Ethernet) via the LAN network.

In the Clex public system, the online module LAN enables communication between the electronic locking units and the external system. In this system, interfaces via LAN and LAN PoE are available for the product. Any number of locking units can be controlled via the online module LAN depending on the radio range.
