Infotecs – IT Security in Industrial Automation / Hall 7 Booth 7K33 Forum

About speaker: Mr. Waclaw raises the issue of the current situation of threats, attacks and espionage in the industrial sector and shows how easy cyber-criminals could access industrial control systems. If connected to the Internet these systems have mostly insufficient protection. Hackers could spy out and manipulate production systems. In addition the presentation is about the complexity of embedding different manufacturing lines, the integration of external suppliers and secure connection of different branch offices.

Josef Waclaw studied technical computer science in Karlsruhe. After his graduation he worked as a software developer and project manager at Siemens Nixdorf AG in Munich. In 1991 Mr. Waclaw joined Oracle Germany where he worked first in technical product marketing for Oracle core technologies as a territory sales manager. At Oracle he was responsible for the database business for the east part of Germany.  1998 Mr. Waclaw moved to Sun Microsystems Inc. and held various sales management positions. After Oracle merged with Sun Microsystems in 2010 Mr. Waclaw moved as Alliance Director for IBM into the Global System Integrators department at Oracle Corporation in the United States.
